been particularly busy gathering prizes from sponsors this year, and lots
of PRIZES will be awarded for the COSTUME CONTEST, Moved?
Bought a bigger boat? New baby in the family? Keep SBYC current as to your
latest! Click below to tell us all about it!
PLEASE COMPETE
IN THE COSTUME CONTEST Sunday afternoon, 5pm
All SBYC Members,
guests, and guest urchins (kids) are invited and encouraged to come out
and compete in the annual COSTUME CONTEST on Sunday afternoon.
LIGHTHOUSE
TOUR for Pirates, Saturday, 1pm
So that our Powerboater Pirates, whose speedy
vessels will give them so much more time to fill over the Labor Day weekend,
can be entertained and kept out of trouble, we have added a OLD SODUS
POINT LIGHTHOUSE TOUR for Saturday at 1pm. Powerboaters and "puffboaters"
alike are invited to join in! Bradley McCleary, the lighthouse museum director
himself, will be guiding our tour (and making sure the plundering and pillaging
is kept to a minimum).
SCHOONER
LOTUS
TO TAKE THE KIDS SAILING, Sunday, after the COSTUME CONTEST
A "brown sack" dinner will be provided to feed
the little scoundrels. To sail on the LOTUS, children attending the SBYC
Pirate's Weekend must be 10-14 years old, and must be dressed in pirate
garb to be eligible. The LOTUS has room for 16 kids. If we have more kids
wanting to go than the we have room for, we'll draw names out of a pirate
hat!
CHECK OUT THE
PIRATE'S
WEEKEND WEB SITE!
If you haven't seen it yet, be sure top check
out the SBYC
PIRATE'S WEEKEND WEBSITE which includes our itinerary, sign-up form,
links to "piratical sites" on the web for pirate terms, games and information.
Be sure your speakers are turned on, and try clicking on the various graphics
on the different pages as you go. Aaaaaaarh!
SCURVY
CREW NEEDED!
We need crew to man (and woman) the Labor Day
Pirate's Weekend event. Please check the SIGN-UP SHEETS in the hallway
to the heads at the club, or check our online
crew roster to see what's available (online version updated periodically,
so may not be up-to-the-minute).
NOT YET SHOWN on the signup sheets or online crew roster: We'll
be needing "Hospitality Desk Henchmen (and Henchwomen)" to work an "information
booth" type kiosk we'll have for the event. For that endeavor, we'll need
to cover Friday 5-9pm, Saturday 10am-6pm, and Sunday 10am-2pm. I'll add
it to the signup sheet tonight.
