Club Calendar
Our calendar is packed with social events that begin with a mid-winter party. By mid-April, we are enjoying Spring Fling Pub Nights on Fridays and Early Bird Pot Luck Dinners on Saturday nights. We celebrate the opening to the boating season with our annual Memorial Day Sail Pass Ceremony. The dining room opens and we begin enjoying the myriad club events both on and off the water. Some events include Pig Roast, Lobsterfest, movie nights, bonfires on the beach, family beach day, club races, fun races, and Saturday morning yoga. There's always something fun to do at Sodus Bay Yacht Club.
Upcoming Events
SBYC Winter Party 2025
The Winter Party of 2025 is scheduled for February 22, 2025, at Young Sommer Winery in Williamson, NY, from 4 to 9 pm. The facility is more extensive than last year at Boom Point and can accommodate more of our SBYC club's membership, as last year's party was quite constrained. Our social committee is in the planning stages of what kind of menu we should serve. We are also considering whether the membership would prefer a musical group or a guest speaker. We are interested in any feedback you may need. The menu and pricing will follow in the next month.
Events and Traditions
The Commodore’s Ball in June is our most formal dinner/dance event not to be missed! It's in honor of present and past commodores of SBYC. After Labor Day, we still have fun at the club. “Fall Fridays” pub nights and Saturday Die Hard potluck dinners are held from mid-September until the week before Halloween. Our finale is the Awards Dinner and Halloween Party hosted by the Race Committee. This dinner/costume/dance party is the crowning event of the season with competitive members vying for the coveted "Best Costume" Award!. It's an event enjoyed by all ages!

Commodore's Ball
Oh, what a night! It's always a great evening connecting with friends, enjoying the dinner and desserts, and dancing the night away!
Our social director always does an amazing job putting this formal event together each year. Stay tuned for the theme of the ball. It changes from year to year and inspires everyone as to what to wear to match the theme!
All of the other events at the club are very informal. Although there is no formal dress code for the dining room, most folks wear their more business casual attire for dinner. If a visit to the bar is up your alley, then shorts and t-shirts are fine. People generally step off of their boats and walk right in!
Antique Boat Show
The antique boat show is becoming a common event each year at the club. This event is open to the public and will often include more than 20 antique boats (both in the water and on the hard). We even showcase antique and classic cars in the parking lot. Spectators can view the boats and the cars with their featured sign indicating information about the vehicle's year, model and owner.
